your while. As it is, you install it only to find that nothing happens. You won't find this listed on the Start menu, since it turns out its just added as an extension to Windows Explorer context menu. You will find it in the Program folder, but there's no Help file or even a simple Readme text file. Right click when you're in Windows Explorer and you'll find a new menu option with only three choices: Create, Remove, and About. Click Create and a new folder appears the first time, but it isn't immediately clear how this will help you read RSS feeds. The process is actually very simple, and you just need to enter the URL of a feed in a pop-up window that appears in the folder. Feeds are listed in the top half of a window and are displayed in the bottom. It's strictly run-of-the mill as far as an actual feed reader. There are only a couple of options to set, including opening a link on a double-click, remembering last message viewed, and removing the warning dialog when you delete an object. There isn't a way to add multiple feeds to a folder, so you could quickly get overrun with feed folders. There's more than a little irony in the description for this freeware tool, which emphasizes that a "comfortable" program is one that ensures the user has no questions on how to use it. By its own definition, docklets for windows 7 fails. It wasn't intuitive or flexible. Skip this and try out one of the many other ways to read RSS feeds. The program opens with a neatly designed interface for configuring your date and time display, but a help file would have saved users from the curse of trial and error. The choices offered by docklets for windows 7 are odd, to say the least. You can change your time format from four-digit display (00:00) to two (0:0) with different alternative separators. You can change the date format through abbreviations and the order of month, date and year. (To see the date, simply hover your mouse pointer over the time display.) You also can add a few special character symbols--such as accented vowels--to your display, although we can't figure out why you'd want to. Unlike similar applications, this one doesn't provide handy extras like font styles and color settings. Worse are the changes it makes to your system as a whole. Imagine our surprise when we saw the same display we configured with docklets for windows 7 on all files on our test machines. To its credit, docklets for windows 7 warns you in its Info tab that it can "cause conflict with some applications" and provides a Restore button if the new setting is not to your liking. Unless you want freeware to monkey with your time settings, we suggest that you skip docklets for windows 7. docklets for windows 7 efficiently handles its only task of monitoring the transfer rates of online data along your network connection. Its small, skinnable interface displays real-time upload and download rates. A simple double-click instantly opens a detailed graph to view the transfer rates from the last 10 minutes or the last 10 hours. Using its system tray icon, you can quickly modify the X/Y axis scale, transparency levels, and whether download and
